The experience


Join a local expert on a foraging walk in Macclesfield Forest, in the quieter south west of the Peak District National Park. where you will learn about and gather wild botanicals (such as wild bilberry, raspberry, blackberry, gorse flower, pine, moss) to flavour your own bespoke gin. 

You'll learn about the gin making process and enjoy samples of products at the distillery barn.  Forest Distillery is found within a beautifully restored 17th century stone barn.  Forest Gin is exported around the world, and sold in the exclusive Harvey Nicholls department store in London

Parking Facilities

Limited parking on site for up to 5 vehicles. No vehicles over 7.5 tonnes. Pick up service available from either Macclesfield or Buxton railway stations at £20 per head.

Refreshments and meals

Gin samples and soft drinks are available as part of the experience

Special equipment needed

Sensible walking shoes and suitable clothesfor weather conditions necessary. Warm clothing advised in winter.

Availability

Pre-booking only. Wednesday - Sunday only. The experience cannot operate when it is snowing (generally between December - February). Sutable for guests over 18 years old only.

Accessibility considerations and facilities

The foraging element of the experience is unsuitable for guests with mobility difficulties. The building is accessible to wheelchairs.
